The Cinderellas aren't the story.

The pub from the first two rounds of this year's tourney is going to Davidson and Western Kentucky. Both deserving, but I'm not exactly stunned that either of them are still dancing. You can make the argument that WKU should've been favored in both of their games and there was a lot of smart money on a veteran Davidson club, led by a super-scorer in Stephen Curry, pipping offensively-challenged Georgetown. I am, however, surprised that Tennessee is still alive. Yeah, they're a 2-seed, but continue to be wildly overrated. I fully expected a Butler-Louisville Sweet 16 matchup. Nearly happened. At least Pitt's flameout in the second round validated me.

Here's what no one is talking about, though, that the nation will have their eyes opened to in the next couple days: Washington State's defense is incredible. Just ask Winthrop and Notre Dame who struggled to crack 40 points. Impressive drubbings, both of them. The Cougars are going to give North Carolina (who has to be feeling fat and happy after coasting through their first two games) all they want.
